University Competence Centers in the America's

SAP has established University Competence Centers (UCCs) around the world to eliminate the need for individual campuses to make large investments in technical infrastructures and operational staffing. SAP offers free software licenses to institutions through membership in the SAP University Alliances program. In the United States, Canada and countries across Latin America, member campuses pay an economical annual hosting fee to the UCC providing the hosted software services. University Competence Centers are located at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and California State University, Chico.

UCC: California State University, Chico

California State University, Chico became a University Competence Center in 2001. The center grew until it officially became a mega-center, responsible for providing hosting services to schools across the America's in the Fall of 2006. Today Chico supports more than 70 University Alliances member campuses.

UCC: University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) became a University Competence Center in 2002. Following several years of growth, it officially became a mega center in the fall of 2006. The UCC is housed within the Center for Technology Innovation at the Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business. As a mega center, UWM's UCC has served customers in the United States, Canada, and Europe and is currently a hosting facility for more than 80 universities.
