Library Discipline
SAP is the global leader in Business Intelligence (BI) tools and solutions. In this section of the library, University Alliances presents full courses and supplemental resources for enterprise systems as well as desktop applications. The course materials are, in general, integrated with our exclusive Global Bike Inc. (GBI) dataset and Business Warehouse (BW) platform or data elements have been pre-extracted from the GBI dataset. Some of the very latest tools in our BusinessObjects family of products as well as SAP's BI tool installed in a host of customer installations are available to members of the UA program (UAP).
BusinessObjects desktop tools and course curriculum items are being made available for download from this page for the first time in 2009, not only to University Alliances program members, but to all professors and lecturers registered in this University Alliances community (UAC) portal.
Content in the BI library is applicable to both business and IT courses. The content is predominately user-oriented, but it can also be employed to illustrate technical implementation requirements and results in a typical BI environment.
We appreciate highly that UAP member professors have donated some of the items presented to the benefit of the entire community. If you also have developed your own case studies, demonstrations, exercises, lecture material, or any other type of teaching content, we would be pleased to hear from you. We welcome your comments and contributions.
Share your ideas through the UA Library Reference Desk.
The topic of Business Intelligence is currently being highlighted in the Thought Leadership area of the Faculty Club. This area of the community is designed to facilitate a conversation between lecturers and product experts. We invite you to share your thoughts on this critical business topic. The BI thought leadership page also has many additional BI resources you may find useful in the classroom.

Description
The business intelligence course consists of modules designed for flexible use in a variety of courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Each module is designed to stand alone, and can be taught without having to teach other modules. This enables faculty members to have a considerable degree of flexibility in how they choose to integrate these materials into curricula.
Modules labeled with at "BI1" prefix contain introductory, user-focused content. These are suitable for courses that teach the basics of Business Intelligence without going into a great deal of technical detail.
Modules labeled with a "BI2" prefix are intended for a more technical courses. Faculty choosing to adopt the technical modules may also wish to review the corresponding non-technical modules to help put the technical modules in context. However, teaching both the BI1 and BI2 modules for a topic is not necessary as each module does stand on its own.
The modules are as indicated below.
BI1-M1: Introduction to Business Intelligence
BI1-M2: Data Warehouse Architecture
BI1-M3: SAP BI Overview
BI1-M4: Enterprise Reporting
BI1-M5: Business Planning
BI1-M6: Data Mining
BI2-M1: Data Modeling
BI2-M2: SAP BI Modeling
BI2-M3: BI Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL)
