First Qatar University Joins the UA Program

April 14, 2011 

On April 13, Qatar University (the biggest University in Qatar) signed the agreement to join the SAP University Alliances Program in a big signing ceremony. With the first university from Qatar having joined the program, the number of member universities in the MENA region has increased to 17, the number of member countries to 7 (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and Qatar). "SAP is committed to the MENA region, and Qatar is in the heart of its transformation. The skills gap in the region can only be closed by enhancing and developing young and professional talent through the University Alliance program. We are excited about Qatar University joining the program and confident it will serve as a catalyst to our human capital development initiatives throughout the region." says Sam Alkharrat, managing director of SAP MENA.

CPUT Partners with German Institutions

April 20, 2011 

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), in partnership with SAP and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), has launched erp4schools. CPUT is the first institution in the country and in Africa to run the program. CPUT vice-chancellor Professor Vuyisa Mazwi-Tanga said: "We at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology are proud members of the SAP University Alliances and consider it an honor to establish the Academic Competence Centre to host and promote the erp4schools program outreach, training and capacity building at universities and colleges in Africa... particularly as this project gives credence to our institutional vision to be at the heart of technology education and innovation in Africa."

SAP give students ICT skills

SAP Africa, in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation & Development (BMZ) and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) has launched the erp4school programme.

SAP University Alliances Community invites Northern Illinois University's College of Business to join elite group

May 12, 2011 

Northern Illinois University's (NIU) College of Business was invited to be a member of the SAP University Alliances Community.

SAP is dominant player in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software market. Academic institutions are invited into the SAP University Alliances Community only after meeting stringent criteria.

Joining the SAP University Alliance Community will permit NIU business faculty to use SAP software and have access to curricular materials that will allow them to introduce NIU business students to ERP systems.

Rogers State University Business Graduates Receive SAP Recognition

May 19, 2011 

Several spring graduates at Rogers State University (RSU) recently received the SAP Student Recognition Award from the SAP University Alliances Program.

The RSU School of Business and Technology presented the awards to students who completed the SAP business software curriculum at RSU.

The RSU School of Business and Technology has incorporated SAP software into its curriculum, using the ERP applications in several courses. The curriculum expansion and related faculty training were made possible with support from ConocoPhillips and RSU membership in the SAP University Alliances Program.
