Enterprise Services Repository Content Certification (NW-ESR-CNT)

SAP Integration and Certification - Integration Scenarios

The Enterprise Services Repository (ESR) Content certification in its current version 1.0 focuses completely on the modelling and definition of synchronous inbound A2X services. Outbound services or A2A and B2B scenarios are not in the scope of certification.
A2X services are general-purpose services where the consumer (X) of the application (A) functionality is not pre-defined. They are requested for example for composite applications and for composite views. This certification does not certify the actual business functionality of the implementation. Nevertheless, linked to SAP's SOA methodology, some general implementation requirements must be fulfilled around fault message and log handling as well as service reliability.

Test System Recommendation from ICC

Companies provisioning enterprise services need to obtain an SAP NetWeaver developer license (request online) in order to get started. Usually partners install this system inhouse, but the SAP Integration and Certification Center can host this system for you as part of its SAP Remote Access and Connectivity Service.

If the implementation involves SAP backend integration, partners can subscribe to SAP ICC's hosted environment for backend integration testing. For more information on the hosted environment please visit the SAP Remote Access and Connectivity Service homepage.

For a complete list of test system options, and to determine if the hosted test system option is suitable for your certification, please refer to SAP ICC Consultant Martin Vierling's blog about Test System Opportunities for Independent Software Vendors.
