This package is not for use with SAP applications. For that purpose, refer to the Download Area in the Service Marketplace (login required).

To install the software, download the package on your local computer and double-click the file. The InstallShield Wizard opens and leads you through the installation process.

Database Manager GUI is used to administer databases. Among others, Database Manager GUI provides the following functions:

• Creating and configuring databases

• Monitoring

• Backing up

• Restoring

Database Manager GUI has a graphical user interface and you can use this tool in Windows only. However, you can use Database Manager GUI to access a remote computer running on a different operating system.

From SAPMaxDB Version 7.7 onwards, Database Manager GUI is replaced by Database Studio, which offers all functions formerly provided by Database Manager GUI, SQL Studio, and Synchronization Manager as well as additional functions like a graphic al user interface for the Loader tool. You can download Database Studio as a Community Edition.
