In a sales company the Operations Department senior management and analysts are responsible for carefully tracking the revenue, inventory and open order status in real time. The monitoring is particularly important during the last week of each month. Existing reporting tools provided the information; however, the users had to retrieve the information numerous times throughout the day and extract one or two key data points in each report. Month-end is a busy time and tracking revenue was a time consuming but necessary task.

Introduction of the revenue tracking widget provided a single point of contact directly on the user’s desktop. Now, users have on demand access to up-to-date revenue and the time spent compiling data has been eliminated.

This is a Yahoo Widget and was calling an RFC from SAP R/3 4.0b version.

Widget Details:

1. Net SD Revenue: Month to Previous Day.

2. Revenue for the current day divided into various buckets.

3. Custom RFC created to generate the numbers.
