With the SAP Business Intelligence Java Software Development Kit (BI Java SDK), you can build analytical applications that access, manipulate, and display both multidimensional (OLAP) and tabular (relational) data. The BI Java SDK consists of a Java application programming interface (API) in Java class libraries, documentation, and examples. The applications you create can access, manipulate, and display OLAP and relational data from diverse data sources.

You may use the BI Java SDK in an unmanaged scenario, to create Java applications that run in your local environment (in the absence of a J2EE server), or you may use it in order to design three-tier applications which will be deployed onto the SAP NetWeaver J2EE Application Server. In order to deploy these three-tier applications, you will need SAP NetWeaver '04.

The BI Java SDK will be distributed with SAP NetWeaver '04 and will be fully-integrated into the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio. If you do not yet have SAP NetWeaver '04 or if you wish to use your own IDE to develop applications with the BI Java SDK, you may download it here.
