General Description

The Duet Client Support tool allows administrators, Active Global Support (AGS), and consultants to easily and quickly verify installations and troubleshoot problems that occur in clients running Duet solutions. You can use this tool to gather diagnostic information about the Duet landscape, detect problems, and provide solutions to the detected problems. The purpose of this tool is to:

  • Reduce troubleshooting time by providing fast access to common operations and features that display technical "hidden" data;

  • Provide a platform for pre- and post-installation tests;

  • Reduce the need for external tools used to troubleshoot Duet clients.

Enhancements in the tool:

  • Quick access operation has been added for the Microsoft OBA Sync Monitor tool

  • Test Landscape have been extended to provide understanding of the machine’s configuration and Duet client’s current status

  • Test Extensibility: External tests can now be uploaded automatically to the Client Support Tool.

  • With this version it is now possible to view the content of the local metadata (not just the scopes) using the Cache Viewer

  • New viewers offering a glance at hidden data

    • Bound Items Viewer :The Bound Items Viewer presents detailed data on all types of the user’s bound items (synced/ failed/ pending)

    • Personalization Data Viewer: The Personalization Data Viewer displays the user’s roaming/ non-roaming data

  • Reset: provides 3 options of cleaning the client machine

Prerequisites

  • .NET 2.0 installed on the client machine

  • Duet 1.5 Preview (SP0) and above components have been installed and configured

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition, Service Pack 2 (SP 2), or Microsoft Windows XP Professional Tablet PC Edition, Service Pack 2 (SP 2)

  • Some of the features (e.g. Cache Viewer) require administrator permissions in order to be able to access the client’s database.
