Mobile Retail Prototype from SAP Research |
Mobile Retail is shown here in a scenario of “quick-shopping”, i.e., exploring how you as a consumer can cut down your shopping time or get desired services from a store –directly on your mobile phone. This demo is an example application based on a lightweight mobile architecture designed by SAP Research. The downloadable application is a self-contained, simplified version which requires no external communications with your service provider - so you don’t have to fear for your telecom bill! Mobile phone characteristics The demo application requires the mobile phone to support J2ME CLDC 1.1. It was more specifically tested on Nokia N95 and Sony Ericsson Z710i. First steps 1) Download the MobileRetail.jar and MobileRetail.jads file on your cell phone. 2) Install the application: On some cell phones, like the Sony Ericsson Z710i, double click the jad file to install the demo application. On some other cell phones, the demo application will be automatically installed while downloading. 3) Launch: After installation, double click the icon of the MobileRetail to launch the application. For more information and to discuss your test drive with researcher Huaigu Wu (Huaigu.Wu@sap.com), please see the download’s wiki page. Your comments will help us propagate this research project into an SAP product! |
