Run time reconfigurable hardware combines some of the flexibility of software with the high performance of hardware. So far such hardware has mainly been used in scientific and technical applications only. This ar-ticle discusses the perspectives of reconfigurable computing in the domain of enterprise applications. The requirements for a reconfigurable enterprise computing platform are presented and it is argued that reconfi-gurable hardware can help tackling data throughput issues in current business scenarios and that it will play a key role for holistic systems bridging the worlds of the ``Internet of Services'' and the ``Internet of Things''.21 Dec 2011

The project seminar “Slipstream” developed a software prototype enabling a business activity management for SAP NetWeaver BPM. This new approach does not only include a live monitoring of running business processes, but also allows for an automated process control and manipulation as well as real-time predictions.
