Overview

Users in any customer organization uses different applications to support their business. The applications are either SAP built applications, ISV built, third-party applications, or custom built applications. Any person using non-SAP software that interfaces with licensed SAP Applications requires a valid SAP named-user license.

Users who access licensed SAP Applications only through certified non-SAP software can be eligible for Platform User Licenses.

Use Cases

SAP Platform User Licenses are available in two levels:

•	SAP Platform Standard User is defined as a Named User accessing licensed SAP Applications only through a non-SAP software that has received SAP ICC certification as a Platform User License Compliant Solution for the category of SAP Platform Standard Users.
•	SAP Platform Extended User is defined as a Named User accessing licensed SAP Applications only through a non-SAP software that has received SAP ICC certification as a Platform User License Compliant Solution for the category of SAP Platform Extended Users.

To make it simple for customer evaluations, SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) determines the eligibility and associated category of Platform User License through a certification process.
