HISTORIC AUDIT ANALYSIS PROTOTYPE

The Historic Audit Analysis Prototype allows users to create periodic historic reports on data that lacks an explicit time dimension.

Users simply create a standard BusinessObjects query against a live data source, and then using the tool, they can generate reports for any point in the past.

Historic Audit Analysis does this by unlocking the information stored in database change logs to rebuild historic state. This liberates users from having to create data warehouses, and it allows on-demand historical reporting in a way that is not currently supported.

THE INFORMATION DESIGN TOOL

The Information Design Tool is the new generation modeling tool that is due to release with the next major release of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Suite. It is an extensible modeling environment that will allow you to design and maintain more easily universes on all sources but also to extend the modeling to additional business concepts such as sets.

This preview version will both allow you to experience some of the exciting new functionality that will be present in the new product, as well as showcasing Historic Audit Analysis.

THE HISTORIC AUDIT ANALYSIS PROTOTYPE

The Historic Audit Analysis prototype is based on the next generation semantic layer. It extends the semantic layer, and provides new metadata that opens up the business intelligence potential locked inside audit logs.

The prototype allows the creation of standard relational connections, queries and universes. It also provides a wizard to guide users through the creation of the log metadata. This ensures a familiar workflow for the creation of Semantic Layer resources, and an intuitive way to access the Historic Audit Analysis functionality.
