Getting Started: Business Objects
The growing community network at SAP — which includes SAP Developer Network (SDN), Business Process Expert (BPX) Community, and Business Objects Community (BOC) — has a total membership that exceeds 1.3 million to date. By joining SDN, BPX, or BOC, you'll have access to over one million topic threads that will:
• Provide information and training resources to achieve your goals;
• Give you access to the power of true co-innovation.
The Business Objects Community (BOC) is a collaborative, knowledge-sharing network that connects developers, report and dashboard designers, and IT professionals with the resources, expertise, and collaborative tools to succeed with SAP Business Objects business intelligence (BI) and information management (IM) solutions. BOC reinforces the value of open and heterogeneous Business Objects solutions that leverage technologies from SAP, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, and others.
The community focuses on two main areas:
• Enhancing applications/products by embedding Business Objects BI and IM solutions within a product or online service for redistribution.
• Providing BI and IM solutions for small- and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and large companies.
BOC also provides a Crystal Reports and Xcelsius Support area.
Once you begin contributing to BOC, you'll see the benefits of collaborating with your peers in a supportive ecosystem. As you see what's available to you and begin to learn from others in the community, you'll find ways to contribute your own knowledge and expertise. You'll earn points every time you contribute to the forums or blogs.
BOC lets you determine the level of engagement that works for you:
• As a non-member, you have the opportunity to listen and learn from others in the community.
• As a member, you have access to exclusive content, such as eLearning sessions.
• As a Top Contributor who earns 250 points per year, you participate actively in the community.
• As an SAP Mentor, you are a leader in the community who is regularly called upon to share your expertise.
Each level of engagement offers you the chance to build your reputation and boost your profile - not only within SAP, but for your company and customers as well. Potential customers and other members will seek you out for your expertise in a particular area. Check out the recent blog where top contributors were recognized.
