Apps 4 Climate Action Contest
INTRODUCTION
SAP is a proud Gold sponsor of the Apps for Climate Action Contest, which challenges Canadian software developers to raise awareness of climate change and inspire action to reduce carbon pollution by using data in new applications for the web and mobile devices. A leader in climate action, the Government of British Columbia created a public catalog of its best climate and greenhouse gas emission data and will award prizes in five categories: best mobile application, best Web application, people's choice, best of B.C., and overall best application.
Apps 4 Climate Action: Code for the Climate!
In this blog by David Wrate, Director of Citizen Engagement with the Province of British Columbia, he officially introduces the Apps 4 Climate Action contest. Modeled after programs such as Apps for Democracy, Apps for America, and Apps for Healthy Kids, this contest challenges the software community to use their skills for the greater good, and demonstrate new uses for technology in the process.
